I am 38-years old, married with two great kids and two great little dogs. Besides the family and dogs, my interests include genealogy, writing, motorcycling and cooking.
I am retired/disabled with Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES). CES is a neurological disorder affecting very few people. My neurosurgeon, who’s been in the business some 40-years, said I was only the 4th case he’d ever seen. If you are interested in learning more about CES you can check out the CES Forum. Some of the problems I have from CES include partial paralysis of my legs. I wear braces on both legs and use two canes to walk. Because of this weakness, I am no longer able to ride a motorcycle. But a little thing like that sure isn't going to stop me! I now ride a 3-wheeled motorcycle, better known as a trike. The 3rd wheel gives me back the independence and ability to indulge in my passion for riding.
When I was younger (junior high and high school) I had several poems and a story or two published in county and state school-system publications. I’ve also had numerous letters to the editor published in the local newspaper. In the October 2006 issue of Biker magazine I had a fictional story published, my first national publication. I also was a “guest columnist” in our local paper after the tragic VT shooting. |
